Abstract
•Shuikoushan granodiorites were generated from dehydration-melting of amphibolite, coupled with fractional crystallization.•The middle/lower crust beneath the Jiangnan orogen as the source of the Shuikoushan granodiorites.•The detachment of mafic residues after dehydration-melting was triggered by mantle upwelling.
