摘要

•Complex enhancer in the first intron of the hGLI1 gene.•6 highly conserved GLI binding cis elements that can self-regulate the gene.•Occupancy of the region by H3K4me3, H3K27ac, and BRD4 is Sonic Hedgehog responsive.•H2A.Z is an hGLI1 binding partner, validated with IP-MS, PLA and co-IP.•Provides a likely mechanism for the GLI1 feed forward loop associated with many cancers.
