Abstract
•Performance-economics of fluidized and fixed bed tire gasification are compared.•Results show the LHV and LCOS of syngas are less than 7.4 MJ/Nm3 and 0.60 ¢/kWh.•The fixed bed gasifier has worse performance but better economic analysis results.•Tire gasification is attractive because its LCOS is lower than natural gas price.
