Hot Spot Processing System On-Board Based On Multi-Spectral Remote Sensing Images

Multi-spectral remote sensing has become a general trend in remote sensing technology. The increasing number of spectral bands on one hand leads to higher data rates and data volumes, bringing unbearable pressure to the data transmission channel. On the other hand, users are often only interested in special information they are interested in, and not in the whole data mass. Concerning these two tendencies, a hot spot processing system on-board is proposed in this paper. Focusing on the water thermal pollution monitoring with anomaly high temperature, the proposed system consists of two stage processes, water temperature anomaly detection followed by downlink information generation. Experimental results reveal that the proposed system not only can greatly reduce the pressure of data transmission channel, but also can meet the emergency response requirements of high temperature events.
