Abstract
Recent years have seen enormous advances in the area of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Established companies including Google, Facebook, and Microsoft, together with a considerable number of start-ups, are pushing the limits of AR/VR technology in terms of both hardware and software. Despite such efforts, there still isn't a killer app that can make these technologies appealing to large consumer audiences, and the currently available 3D content focuses mostly on games or simple prototypes of holographic demos.
