•Renal dysfunction is a frequent complication after intestinal transplantation.•We retrospectively analyzed 8 adult intestinal transplant patients.•Two patients developed acute kidney injury due to acute rejection and sepsis.•Another 2 patients developed chronic kidney disease requiring renal replacement therapy.•Accurate assessment of renal function should be performed frequently.
