Abstract
A pedestrian speed estimation system using is built based on the RCWL-0516 microwave presence detector module. The design choices follow low-cost and energy efficiency. The results indicate that the pedestrian speed can be obtained with an average relative error lower than 15% accuracy. The constructed module can be useful in constraint-resource scenarios as foreseen in forthcoming IoT designs.
