A weighted edge-based level set method based on multi-local statistical information for noisy image segmentation.

•A weighted edge-based level set method is proposed to better segment noisy image.•Introduce a weighted length coefficient by utilizing a normalized local entropy.•Propose a weighted regional coefficient based on local entropy and mean.•Propose a modified edge stop function using local entropy and standard deviation.•Experiments prove the robustness and effectiveness of our method against noise.
