Convergence in Spanish Public health expenditure: Has the decentralization process generated disparities?

•We study the decentralization process of the public health expenditures in Spain for the 1991–2010 sample.•The decentralization process has generated serious differences among the Spanish regions.•The longer a right-wing party governs, the lower the per capita public health expenditure in this region of Spain.
