Novel miRNA-based biomarker panel for detection β2-agonists in goats

•A first try to find miRNA biomarkers in goat for detection of β2-agonists.•An mRNA-miRNA network is established related to β2-agonists for the first time.•The mechanism involved in β2-agonists is more clear with the upper network.•MiRNA biomarkers based on physiological effects may suspect β2-agonists effectively.•Give a new perspective on improving meat quality by regulate miRNA expression.
