Abstract
Array element failure is one of the challenges in application of antenna arrays. The existing methods are of frequency-domain, and they can be complicate, expensive or time consuming. In this paper, we propose the use of the time-reversal method for array diagnosis. The method can directly reconstruct both operating and defect elements without matrix operations. Both theoretical analysis of the time-reversal method and computation of an example are presented to verify the effectiveness of the time-reversal method.
