Abstract
In patients with previous abdominal surgeries, free air is visible only in half the patients in routine X-ray imaging. A significant number of those patients needed abdominal CT scan. Our study demonstrated that chest and abdominal plain radiography films are insufficient for the decision-making process in patients with previous abdominal operations. A multi-center prospective study is required in order to validate our findings.
