Design of a microchannel-based reactor module for thermally coupled reactions: Oxidative coupling and steam reforming of methane

•A microchannel-based reactor for coupled reactions was considered.•Exothermic oxidative coupling and endothermic steam reforming reactions were coupled.•A computational fluid dynamics model was developed, and its validity was proven.•Effects of operating conditions and structural parameters on thermal behaviors were evaluated.•The kinetically controlled region in the SRM bed was expanded to enhance thermal control.
