Tibial plateau fractures can be a difficult to manage for even the most skilled orthopaedic surgeons. The soft tissue envelope and degree of comminution, in conjunction with the complex anatomy of the proximal tibia, pose challenges to obtaining and maintaining reduction, and in turn, to good functional outcomes.
