Framelet regularization for uneven intensity correction of color images with illumination and reflectance estimation.

•A novel framelet-based variational scheme is proposed for image enhancement.•The details of an image can be well preserved by the framelet regularization.•An alternating optimization method is adopted to solve the proposed model.•Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
