Optimizing process parameters to obtain a bioplastic using proteins from fish byproducts through the response surface methodology (vol 16, pg 23, 2018)

•The biopolymer extracted from the fish byproduct presented major fractions of myosin and actin.•The optimal condition obtained by CCRD was the formulation with 0.79% proteins and 40% plasticizer.•RSM proved fully adequate for characterizing bioplastics.•The myofibrillar proteins from fish byproduct were effective to obtain bioplastics.
