Cryogenic performance of single polymer polypropylene composites

•Polypropylene tapes used in this study are in the single polymer composites category.•Mechanical performance of the selected tapes at cryogenic temperatures are shown.•The results are indicating more than 2% elastic strain at −196 °C for the [±45] layup.•The drop tower tests are showing viscoelastic behavior at cryogenic temperatures T.
