Abstract
With the rapid development of data centers around the world, energy consumption of data centers has become a non-ignorable constituent of total energy consumption. Considering its unique characteristics, the optimal energy management of data center has become the principal concern of most data centers, especially for those processing batch workloads. In this paper, a grid-connected microgrid composed of conventional generators, renewable resources and energy storage system( ESS) is considered to provide power for a data center. A day-ahead resource planning problem considering conventional generator fuel cost and carbon emission cost is proposed and a MILP model is formulated to solve it. The numerical analysis is also provided and corresponding results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
