摘要

•Nd:YAG single crystals with a diameter of 80 mm are grown by Czochralski method.•The temperature gradient above the melt were measured under various growth conditions.•The defective Nd:YAG crystals are analyzed by a parallel plane polariscope, SEM and EDS.•Perfect large crystals are obtained by optimizing growth parameters and thermal field.
