Case study on muscular response to pulse mechanical stimulation after immobilization

The experiment aimed to study the effects of long-term immobilization of the muscles after injury and it offers a new perspective on spatial physiology experiments. This article represents a case study meant to investigate if the changes that occur in the muscular tissue after leg disuse due to immobilization can be observed and quantified using in-house developed device in order to characterize the muscular tissue and if this kind of situational accidents can be in the future an alternative to more expensive and complicated studies. This type of special situation suggested the idea to develop a type of methodology in muscular, bone, tendinous, ligamentous and probably circulatory impairments studies in conditions that do not use, for simulation of spatial environment, bedrest or dry immersion studies.
