•A novel EMI SE materials was production by graphite and nickel fiber added in cement.•The best SE of composites was 45dB in 1–1500MHz frequency range.•Graphite doped with in cement based composites the SE was increased about 18.22dB.•Silica fume doped into cement based composites, the SE was increased 8.35dB.
