Incremental Flexible Endoscopic Septomyotomy Of Zenker'S Diverticulum: 10 Year Experience

Previously described methods of endoscopic Zenker’s septomyotomy (EZSM) involve a single procedure in which the septum is aggressively dissected, usually to its base. This carries a small but significant risk of bleeding and perforation. Additionally, complete obliteration of the septum may not be required for relief of symptoms. EZSM has evolved in our center from an aggressive single procedure to an “incremental” approach. We report our outcomes over 10 years in a consecutive series of patients.
