摘要
ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to study the role of Nonviolence in leaders on organizational commitment level of the subordinates. The academic literature on nonviolence at workplace is meagre, although there is ample literature on Nonviolence in religious, political and social sector. In this dynamic world of ever changing expectations, the sanctity of transactional and psychological contract between employer and employees are often violated and these links are stretched. It is thus contended that the critical role of a leader is to negotiate these terms of contract in an ongoing manner and forge the links for mutual benefit. A total of 155 professionals forming 89 dyadic pairs of Bosses and Subordinates from Information technology (IT) and Manufacturing sector in India participated in this study. Data was collected through convenient sampling and a survey method was used for data collection. Standardized, reliable and valid instruments were used for data collection. Results of descriptive statistics, correlation and regression were presented and discussed in view of contemporary findings for conclusions. The paper concludes with Managerial implications, and limitations. Keywords Nonviolence at workplace, Organizational Commitment, IT/ Manufacturing, India
