Abstract
•Ni-Cu/Biomorphic carbon is active for the synthesis of graphenic materials.•Catalyst productivity rises with temperature and %CH4, and decreases with %H2.•Best carbon quality is obtained at 950°C with a 28.6% of CH4 and 14.3% of H2.•The kinetic model allows quantify the impact of the operating conditions.•Interplay among all the stages determines evolution of carbon growth.
