Objectives: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is an established therapy in the treatment of cardiopulmonary organ failure. Nevertheless, there is still a high mortality for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and cardiogenic shock. However, long-term outcome and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) are still unknown.
