Identification of endophytic Bacillus velezensis ZSY-1 strain and antifungal activity of its volatile compounds against Alternaria solani and Botrytis cinerea

•Bacteria ZSY-1 synthesizes volatile organic compounds with antifungal activity.•Phenol (4-chloro-3-methyl) could inhibit the growth of plant pathogenic fungi.•Pyrazine (2,5-dimethyl) and benzothiazole could inhibit A. solani and B. cinerea.•Phenol-2,4-bis (1,1-dimethylethyl) is main substance to delay pigment production.
