Abstract
Antispasmodic agents are useful to inhibit gastric peristalsis during diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (UGE) for accurate diagnosis, as well as therapeutic endoscopy. Although l-menthol has been reported to be an effective agent for reducing gastric peristalsis, the contributions during endoscopy are not well understood.
