Abstract
Objectives: Genetic factors are involved in the pathogenesis of statin-induced myopathy. In this regard, variants (polymorphisms) of genes coding for transport proteins and enzymes affecting absorption, distribution, metabolization and excretion of statins have been described. The aim of our work was to develop and implement a method for determination of single nucleotide polymorphisms in SLCO1B1 and GATM genes.
