Monitoring Station Based on Virtual Instrumentation Applied to a Distillation Column

This paper presents the design and the online implementation of a monitoring station for a distillation column. The purpose of the monitoring station is to supervise and ensure the quality of the distilled product, through the analysis of the process operation, which can reduce production costs. The monitoring station is designed for a distillation column pilot plant in a batch-type operation mode, it is based on temperature measurements. It has 7 Pt-100 RTD temperature sensors, located in the boiler, the condenser and in 5 plates of the column body.
