Abstract
Objective To study the effects of cadmium on mechanical dynamics of isolated jejunum from rat in vitro. Methods 60 muscles from 30 rats were randomly divided into 3 groups. The muscles were poured by the 4 different consistent cadmium chloride (27.5, 55.0, 82.5, 110.0 μmol/L), control group and calcium inhibit groups. The active tension, basic tension, maximal velocity of contraction(+dT/dt max ) and maximal velocity of relaxation(-dT/dt max ) were studied. Results dT/dt max , -dT/dt max , active and basic tension decreased significantly, and the decrease in dT/dt max and -dT/dt max appeared to be the most significant. Conclusion Contraction were inhibited obviously by cadmium. These effects could be recovered by using new culture medium and the cadmium effects were antogonized by calcium.
