Observation of EEG and BEAM of HBO treatment for CO poisoning

Abstract
Objective EEG and BEAM were analyzed during the HBO treatment. Method We assessed characteristics of EEG and BEAM in 33 CO poisoning patients before and after the treatment with DYD-2000 type equipment by HBO. Results EEG before treatment appeared extensive δ wave and θ wave, especially in frontal Cobe, parietal Cobe and temporal Cobe. BEAM appeared the power of diffuse or local slow wave (δ or θ wave ) raising especially in frontal local slow wave (δ or θ wave) raising especially in frontal Cobe, parietal Cobe and temporal Cobe. The raised-power area was the pathological part involved in the poisoning. α wave can decline diffuse or locally. The positive rate of EEG is 63.6% and that of BEAM is 87.8%. After the treatment by HBO, the background wave generally is quicker like slow α wave, the positive rate is 27.2%. The power of BEAM falls down diffusely or locally and the positive rate is 30.2%.Coclusion It indicates that after the HBO treatment,the encephalon and oxygen-poor condition is improved and the cure rate is increased.
