Therapeutic effect of Yanggan Ruanjian recipe on hepatic fibrosis in rats

Objective:To study the therapeutic effect of Yanggan Ruanjian recipe on hepatic fibrosis in rats.Methods:sixty male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group,model group and treatment group.All rats except those in the control group were given subcutaneous injection of 40% carbon tetrachloride(once every 3 days for 11 weeks).Three weeks later,rats in the treatment group were given Yanggan Ruanjian recipe 10ml·kg-1·d-1) daily for 8 weeks,then rats in the above 2 groups were given normal saline.At the end of the treatment,the levels of hyaluronic acid(HA),laminin(LN),procollagen Ⅲ(PCⅢ) in serum and Hyp in liver tissue were detected,the pathohistological changes were observed under light microscope.Results:Compared with model group,Yanggan Ruanjian recipe could protect hepatic function,could significantly reduce the serum levels of HA,LN,PCⅢ and the exorbitant Hyp in liver tissue,histopathologic examination also showed its significant amelioration effect on experimental liver fibrosis.Conclusion: Yanggan Ruanjian recipe can greatly protect from liver fibrosis in rats induced by CCl4.
