Study on Expandable Properties of Expandable Slotted Tubulars

Expandable slotted tubular(EST) is a new technology that cut on a series of staggered and overlapped slots with the axial slotted,it is easy to be expanded.Material selecting and slotting structure optimization are the major techniques of Expandable slotted tubular.By testing on different material and slotting structure,according to expandable properties,an appropriate tubular material and slotting structure was optimized.Experiments showed that normal expansive force of EST was 8.5t,internal diameter expansion ratio exceeded 39%.The tubular material had good extension,and the slots had good capability of anti-craze and crack arrest.
