Study of IR Defense Strategy Based on IR Guided Missile

In the air combat, the infrared (IR) guided missile poses a serious threat to the aircraft when it comes from the rear hemisphere of target aircraft. Hence, it's very important about studying IR defense strategy. In the manuscript, Firstly, IR air-to-air missile models which are the most important part in the IR attack and defense system are established. Then, the evasive effect of S maneuver and barrel roll maneuver are compared when the missile comes from the rear hemisphere of the target aircraft. The simulation demonstration that barrel roll maneuver combined with IR decoy is the most disruptive to the guidance of IR air-to-air missile.
