Construction of a Lab for Measuring and Eliminating Deviation of Magnetic Compasses

Magnetic compass is one of directional instrument in ship fitting.The deviation of the compass will influence the navigational safety of the ship.In view of the problems of measuring and eliminating deviation of magnetic compasses in colleges labs,this paper introduced the constitution and principle of a novel lab for measuring and eliminating deviation of magnetic compasses,and proposed the design of the module for data sampling and displaying based on the synchro and AT89S52,which can simulate the effect of electric gyro compasses in indicating the courses.The simulated electric gyro compass can be used to indicate the magnetic course indirectly and measure the deviation based on the method of comparison of the course,which can eventually make the training in the laboratory conform to the real method of measuring and eliminating deviation.
