Overview on the Grammatical and Metaphorical Relations of the Nautical Chart Language

There are some metaphorical mapping relations between the nautical chart language and natural language from their syntaxes to semantics and pragmatics.In this paper,the principles of the universal grammatical rules and the transformational-generative grammatical rules for the nautical chart language are focused on,and two types of grammatical metaphorical relations are discussed ty several modern linguistic theories.It is proposed that the grammatical isomorphism is the basis of the semantic interpretation consistency,which is the necessary condition of establishing the system for the general nautical chart language.
