Abstract
The porous media model was applied to numerical simulation of magnesium alloy rheoroll-casting,and temperature distribution and solid fraction distribution in casting zone were analyzed under different pouring temperature. The differences between pure liquid model and porous media model were comparatively analyzed, and then the best model can be determined through the experimental results. The results show that under different pouring temperature, temperature distribution and solid fraction distribution are similar, but the positions of the point of complete solidification are distinct. The comparative analysis shows that the optimum pouring temperature is 840 K,and the simulated result of the porous media model is highly consistent with experiment result. Therefore,in the numerical simulation of rheoroll-casting,the porous media model has higher reliability than pure liquid model.
