Determination of the total flavonoids in Lonicera similes Hemsl. by UV-Vis spectrophotometry

Objective: The study is aimed to establish a simple and quick method to determine the total flavonoids content in Lonicera similes Hemsl., to provide scientific evidence for the quality control and development of Lonicera similes Hemsl. Method: With rutin as the reference substance,the total flavonoids content was detected at 510 nm using UV spectrophotometry. Result: The linear relationship was good (r= 0.9999) in the range of 8.0179 μg·mL-1 ~ 48.1074 μg·mL-1 and the content of total flavonoids in the samples was 3.38%.Conclusion: UV speetrophotometry is a suitable method for the detection of the total flavonoids content in Lonicera similes Hemsl. for its simple and quick determination. And it will provide the scientific evidence for the quality control and development of Lonicera similes Hemsl.
