Abstract
It is difficult but important to analyze the hazard degree of debris flows, which plays an important role in the grasp of overall characteristics of the debris flow. Entropy-ideal point method was applied to generate a hazard degree classification model, and 10 assessment factors, such as the basin area, main channel length, maximum difference, were used for debris hazard degree assessment. Three debris flow gullies was taken for example. Entropy method was used to determine the weight factors, and ideal method was then applied to analyze the hazard degree of the debris flows. According to the result of the applied method, the hazard degrees of debris flow 2 and 3 were high (close degrees were 0.79 and 0.83, respectively), and the hazard degree of debris flow 1 was moderate (close degree was 0.82). The hazard degree result was accordant with the field and the previous studies. It is proved that this method was able to be applied for hazard degree classification.
