A Meta-analysis of amiodarone on heart failure and ventricular tachyarrhythmia

Objective To evaluate the effect of amiodarone in the treatment of chronic heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia.Methods Search CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,PubMed,Cochrane library,Embase from 1990 June to 2014 June randomized controlled trials about amiodarone in the treatment of chronic heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia,and references of these paper were included,and strict data extraction and assessment of quality of literature were performed,Mela-analysis were performed using RevMan5.1.Results 17 studies with a total of 2 122 patients were included.The results showed that amiodarone in the treatment of congestive heart failure symptoms(OR = 3.67,95%CI 2.56- 5.26,P 0.01),ventricular arrhythmia(OR=7.81,95%CI 5.28- 11.56,P 0.01),heart rate(MD=9.04,95%CI8.50- 9.59,P 0.01) LVEF(MD = 6.78,95%CI 5.57- 7.98,P 0.01),sudden cardiac death rate(MD = 0.3,95%CI 0.16-0.53,P 0.01) in chronic heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia patients has good curative effect,the results showed statistical significance.Conclusion Amiodarone can improve the symptoms of heart failure,ventricular arrhythmia,heart rate,LVEF,sudden cardiac death rate in patients with chronic heart failure and ventricular arrhythmia,it is safe,effective with less adverse reaction,amiodarone can improve the life quality of patients with heart failure.
