Abstract
2-Ethylhexyl palmitate,as Isooctyl Palmitate(IOP),is one of the most important raw material in chemistry industry.It has many applications in cosmetic,pharmaceutic and chemical industries.Some typical synthetic methods of IOP were introduced.Such as: chemical catalysed esterification,synthesis under microwave irradiation and enzymatic synthesis et al.The method of chemical catalytic esterification overcomes some disadvantages,but has high energy consumption.Enzymatic synthesis has settled this problem but had a long reaction time and the enzyme was deactivated at improper temperature.Synthesis under microwave irradiation is better with short reaction time,convenient operation and high yield.A further study should be done on its industrialization.
