摘要

•Estradiol (E2) exerts greater inhibition of K+ channels to potentiate VMN neurons.•E2 potentiations are initiated through estrogen membrane receptors (mERs).•Through mERs, E2 can enhance a wide variety of signaling paths and rapid actions.•E2’s rapid potentiation sets the conditions for its induction of lordosis behavior.
