Abstract
Although the quantum-dots (QDs) light-emitting diode (LED) devices have become popular in general lighting, the better light efficiency is always desirable in the industry. In this paper, a centrifugal sedimentation method was utilized to improve the luminous flux of a white light emitting diode (WLED) with the QDs. The parameters of the centrifugation including different centrifugal speed and time are optimized. Result shows that the maximum enhancement of the luminous flux is 12.4% under a centrifugal speed of 3 Krpm for 3 minutes compared with the conventional LED sample. After the centrifugal sedimentation, the fluorescent structure (phosphors and QDs) are redistributed, resulting in the growth of the blue and green light output. The results indicate that the centrifugal sedimentation process has excellent luminous flux improvement for the QDs LED devices, which will accelerate the application process of the quantum dots.
