Research on Motion Control of Mechanical Arm Based on Laser Guidance

This paper describes research on a type of mechanical arm whose terminal position is given by laser. By means of moving the PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) with a laser device on it, mechanical arm can be controlled to work on a lot of tasks, such as demolition, vision localization of humanoid robot. Actually it is one key technology of most types of robot. For laser-guided manipulators, there have been similar methods previously. However, these are often not very convenient and the errors are large in practical uses. This article introduced the research process of laser-guided robotic arm, combined with the actual research platform, focused on the coordinate acquisition and transformation process. Comparing the novelties with previous methods shows that this method can be effectively applied to a similar environment. In addition, the kinematic derivation process and control method design are also introduced. All results of research were applied to demolish robot and were proved to be effective.
