Abstract 16877: Analysis of the Process and Content of Hot Debriefing After Pediatric In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest in a Multicenter Quality Collaborative

Introduction: Debriefing after pediatric in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) events is recommended by the AHA for quality improvement. The process and content of hot debriefing, occurring shortly after IHCA events, has not been well described. Objective: To describe the process, associations, and content of hot debriefing after pediatric IHCA events. Methods: Using a prospective observational cohort from March 2016-Feb 2017, we analyzed pediatric (u003c18years) hot debriefs, that used plus-delta methodology, across 13 multinational sites in the PediResQ quality improvement collaborative. Hot debriefing was defined as team-based discussion within 12 hours following an IHCA event. We analyzed data using descriptive statistics, chi square for categorical data and Wilcoxon rank sum for continuous variables. We performed qualitative content analyses of plus (“what went well”) and delta (“what could have gone better”) comments using a modified Team Emergency Assessment Measure framework.
