Poiretia latifolia essential oil as a promising antifungal and anti-inflammatory agent: Chemical composition, biological screening, and development of a nanoemulsion formulation

•The essential oil composition of Poeretia latifolia was analyzed and identified.•Limonene, trans-dihydrocarvone and carvone were identified as the major compounds.•Antioxidant potential was measured by TBARS, β-carotene/linoleic acid and DPPH.•P. latifolia oil has antidermatophytic and antichemotactic properties.•Nanoemulsions of the essential oil and its major compounds were developed.
