Fatigue properties of AlSi10Mg produced by Additive Layer Manufacturing

•The as-built material is strongly anisotropic and process parameters dependent.•T6 heat-treated material can be considered as a reference for this type of manufacturing process.•The influence of defect size on the fatigue limit is analyzed by the Kitagawa-type diagrams.•ALM material (HT and not HT) is less sensitive to defect than conventional cast alloys.
