•Moringa oleifera extracts (MO) suppresses metastasis of gastric cancer (GC) cells.•MO reverses the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in GC cells.•A metastasis suppressor NDRG1 is upregulated in MO-treated GC cells.•NDRG1 silencing blocks the inhibitory effect of MO on EMT-mediated metastasis.
