摘要
Peer assessment is an approach to evaluate students' holistic skills in education. It is also believed to improve students' holistic capability development, including professional skills, high order thinking skills and communication skills. This study used a qualitative approach to explore the barriers to peer assessment practices in Malaysia. This research study involved seven local and international experts and was supported by the literature review. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, including information gathering in a written form (open-ended questions using email). The data were then analysed along thematic analysis. Peer assessment is not a popular practice among students, especially in technical and vocational education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the reasons behind the unpopular practice of peer assessment within the scope of the Malaysian Higher Education.
