Abstract
NK/T cell lymphomas are rare and usually aggressive. This study aimed to report the case of a 57-year-old man with painful symptomatology and with deep ulcerations in the soft palate at the midline region, with areas of osteonecrosis, and oronasal fistula on an intraoral examination. After an incisional biopsy, the histopathological analysis showed a rich proliferation of small and large rounded cells that exhibited irregular, hyperchromatic nuclei of varied sizes. The neoplastic cells exhibited poorly stained cytoplasm. Mononuclear inflammatory infiltrate and hemorrhage areas completed the histopathology description. After immunohistochemical reactions that were positive for LCA, CD3, CD56, EBER, and CD20, the diagnosis of NK/T cell lymphoma was defined. The patient was referred to the oncologist, underwent chemotherapeutic and radiotherapeutic treatment, and is under observation.
